1. the medieval festival La Roche à Foucauld

Ainmation musicale médiévaleDuring a weekend in July, the town of La Rochefoucauld-en-Angoumois and its castle will be immersed in a medieval atmosphere. Here is a small glimpse of what awaits you: a stroll through the town, a combat demonstration, a knights’ tournament, pranks, games for children, craftsmen and exhibitors (woodcarvers, jewellery designers, leatherworkers, but also archers, string players, stonecutters), a village of beggars, music, theatre, juggling and falconry shows, a medieval meal… in short, two days full of entertainment during which you will be disconnected from the world of today.

2. the big night market in Montbron

Animation musicale BandaIn Montbron, summer means a night market, which is the unmissable event of the year. The 200 or so exhibitors take over the streets and squares of the village, enlivened by musical groups. You can find everything at the night market: local, regional and even exotic gastronomy, decoration and arts and crafts, gadgets of all kinds, clothing and much more. Shops and restaurants are also open for the occasion.

3. the Au gré des Arts festival

Concert devant l'orgue italien de l'égliseBorn around a unique instrument in the region, the Italian style organ of the church of Saint-Cybard in Pranzac, the festival is based on the dissemination in rural areas of works by French and foreign artists. At the end of October and the beginning of November, the church of Pranzac hosts concerts of jazz, baroque or Renaissance music and organ recitals.

It is the ideal event for families and game enthusiasts, not to be missed! The game festival is a real moment of meeting and sharing.
On the programme: giant wooden games area, board games, early childhood area, sports games, circus, marble run, village of publishers and game creators, throwing games, mini construction site for the little ones, inflatable structures, video games, games evening, escape game… It’s up to you!

5. the potters’ market in Montbron (marché des potiers)

Exposition professionnelle de céramiqueThe potters hold a market in Montbron over a weekend in August. On the town hall square, ceramic professionals from all over France present their artistic or utilitarian creations in stoneware, earthenware, glazed earth, porcelain or raku and give demonstrations of clay turning to the public.
